nurse’s quarters adaptive reuse
Building 61 is a former Nurse’s Quarters on the Naval Base, being repurposed by the International Dive Institute as a dormitory. Following the Secretary of the Interior’s standards for rehabilitation, Simons Young + associates designed the project to qualify for historic tax credits and the abandoned building tax credit, while meeting the owner’s unique programmatic needs.
